A privileged location

My Charente-Maritime :

Moulded with earth, water and light, large plain fringed with the ocean, our region abounds in patrimonial treasures from all centuries and in natural sites of an exceptional beauty.

The climate is so sweet and sunny that in a way it looks like the Mediterranean coast, but with less crowd, heat and stress and more green fields.

The gastronomy, as simple and solid as its inhabitants, is inspired by the double influence of the sea and the land : oysters, mussels, and other shellfish, snails (!), vegetable and pork products, poultries, butter, milk, goat and cow cheeses, Pineau, Cognac, wines, etc.

Its cities knew how to keep a human size, its innumerable villages, hamlets, castles, manors are sprinkled within a very dense network of small roads and paths inviting to the promenade.
It is a region where people still take time to live according to the rhythm of the seasons, time to chat with eachother, time to contemplate, to listen, to feel...

A long time ago, Pays d'Aunis was the smallest province of France Kingdom and La Rochelle was its capital city.
Nowadays, life is good in this small territory South Marais Poitevin and along the Atlantic coast.
That's here, that's our place, come and stay with us...

Our region offers a great variety of walks and discoveries for everyone...
Seaside or country, heritage or nature, sport, leisure or gastronomy...
